New starters joining the Trust before this time will commence on the old payscales and will move to the new ones once they have been finalised The opportunity has arisen for experienced, talented & ambitious Operational Manager to undertake the role of General Manager in the Planned & Surgical Care Directorate at HDFT. This is a critical senior operational manager post, with the post holder being a core member of the Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of operational delivery across the acute site supported by an exceptional surgical team. Working closely with the Hospital’s Clinical Directors, Associate Directors of Nursing and Midwifery, Clinical Leads and Matrons, the post holder must be able to manage a complex and demanding workload, ensuring delivery of safe and high quality patient care whilst delivering national targets/standards within a challenging cost improvement programme. This post provides leadership and operational management to designated clinical and non-clinical services and the staff, within the directorate and the performance management of these services. The post will lead in ensuring the sustained delivery of key operational service targets, and be responsible for reconciling operational targets and activity with the delivery of high quality care in the area. Report performance against targets through the organisational performance management framework and support the Operational Director in carrying out their role, taking day to day responsibility for the delivery of the Directorate’s business plan and key targets. Work with senior members of the Directorate to take delegated responsibility for monitoring and ensuring that agreed activity and access targets and specified quality standards are understood, met and, where necessary, delivery plans and action plans are adjusted to reflect the achievement of national and local targets.
