To meet its obligation to provide internal IT services for its staff, the MAIB needs to maintain an independent accredited network. This network and its associated equipment and infrastructure need independent management from the IT services provided by the central network.
Position: Interim IT Manager
The interim IT Manager will be responsible for the development and management of IT equipment and its supporting infrastructure, including, but not limited to:
1. System Administrator of the Branch’s local network, MADNet, and its associated peripherals:
1. Network Administrator. Management of:
2. Servers
3. Switches
4. Storage
5. Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
6. Printers
7. Disaster recovery back-ups
8. Internet provision and routers
9. VPN services
2. Cybersecurity Lead. Responsible for network security in-line with company and wider Government standards, including:
1. Firewall management, configuration, and backups
2. Management of security updates, anti-virus, and laptop encryption
3. Management of email security monitoring service
4. Maintaining accreditation and organising Pen-Testing
3. First-Line IT Support. With support from four other staff members in the Technical Department, the post holder is the primary point of contact for first-line IT support in Branch. It is key that the IT Manager provides timely assistance and technical expertise to address user inquiries, troubleshooting hardware and software issues as necessary.
4. System Administrator for Microsoft applications and licensing. Responsible for Microsoft applications such as:
1. Office 365
2. Teams
3. SharePoint
4. Dynamics
5. Power-BI
5. Branch Case Management System. Responsibility for the administration and access control, as well as support in the continued development of the Branch’s Case Management System “COMPASS”, built on Microsoft Dynamics and Azure platforms with integrated SharePoint storage and Power-BI analytics.
6. IT Procurement Lead. With support and contract management from the Head of Technical Support, the post holder is responsible for identifying and procuring IT-related goods and services, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, procurement policies, and contractual obligations.
Essentials: Experience with Intune, firewall management, and knowledge in cybersecurity.
