I'm working with a well-established contractor who are due to start construction on a major high-rise student accommodation scheme in Central Manchester. This is a 30+ storey project with a substantial reinforced concrete frame package, and they're looking for an experienced Site Manager to take the lead on the RC frame phase.\n\nThe Role\n You'll be responsible for driving the RC frame delivery on site - including early civils, piling, ground beams, and vertical structure through to topping out. The role requires strong coordination, a proactive approach to health & safety, and the ability to keep subcontractors aligned with programme and quality targets.\n Be part of a landmark high-rise scheme shaping Manchester's skyline from day 1, this could be the role for you\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage day-to-day delivery of the reinforced concrete frame, from piling to superstructure\nCoordinate subcontractors for rebar, formwork, concrete pours, and temporary works\nEnforce high standards of health & safety, RAMS, permits and site compliance\nWork with the engineering team on setting out, QA, and technical challenges\nOversee progress vs programme and report into the Project Manager\nDrive quality control, snagging, and early handover of sections\nManage logistics, crane operations, and concrete sequencingExperience\n\nPrevious experience managing RC frames on high-rise projects (ideally 20+ storeys)\nSolid understanding of piling, deep excavations, and groundworks\nExcellent site-based health & safety awareness - SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid required\nStrong coordination skills with subcontractors, engineers, and wider delivery teams\nAble to read drawings, identify issues early, and maintain site momentum\n\nCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
