Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Modus.
About you
Ideally the candidate will meet the following criteria:
·Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field with 1-3 years’ experience
·A team player, who is personable, confident and polite and can be diplomatic when required
·Well-organised with good time management skills and the ability to work to time critical deadlines
·Be proactive with a practical and inquisitive mindset and a willingness to learn, develop and adapt
·Ambitious and goal-oriented with a ‘can-do’ attitude
·Good technical writing and communication skills
·Proficient in Microsoft Office
The role and responsibilities
The assistant will generally work under the supervision and guidance of senior members of the Modus team and will typically involve:
·Measurement and quantification of construction works
·Assist in compilation of construction costs, estimating and cost planning
·Assist in the preparation contract documentation
·Co-attend site visits and/or meetings as requested
·Support the preparation of tender documentation
·Assist in the preparation of cost and progress reports and the production of interim valuations
·Assist with the implementation of change control procedures and contractual notices
·Have a basic understanding of contract requirements and assist with contractual correspondence
Remuneration and benefits
·Salary will be dependent on experience
·In-house structured training programme to align with the RICS competencies, with 6 monthly reviews to ensure the correct training is being delivered
·Mentoring to achieve “Chartered” status with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
