R13 are working alongside an amazing nonprofit organisation in their search for a Women’s Support Worker. The focus of this role will be to support women experiencing homelessness, in accessing and maintaining housing. This is a demanding position, that is not for the feint-hearted and will require someone who empathetic, resilient and tenacious in challenging barriers in society.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Norfolk. You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, with the option to work 1 day from home. The offered salary for this position is £24,500 - £26,500 depending on experience.
**Please note, you will be required to undertake and pass an enhanced DBS check & due to the nature of this role it is an occupational requirement that this position be filled by a female**

The day to day
* Providing 1:1 support to disadvantaged women, helping them to access and maintain housing, being consistently available to provide guidance.
* Effectively and autonomously managing your caseload (up to 24 people), you will have the authority to make decisions around support.
* Accurate records management, including sharing of information within muti-agency meetings and reviews.
* Building trusted relationships with women who have experienced multiple hardships.
* Being consistent, flexible and empathetic in your approach to case-management, ensuring the woman is empowered through the support provided.
* Providing gender and trauma-informed support to women who have faced disadvantages such as such as substance-abuse, physical & mental health and experience of sexual violence/exploitation.
* Working alongside other local organisations to ensure women can access different areas of support, being tenacious in outreaching on behalf of those you support.
* Supporting the promotion of the work of the charity.
* Ensuring safeguarding practices are embedded into every aspect of your work and the working practices of the organisation.
You will have/be
* Previous experience working in a similar service-delivery focused role.
* Proven record of handling interventions, crisis-support & advocacy for vulnerable individuals.
* Highly empathetic with excellent communication skills and confident working 121
* Confident working with multi-agencies with an understanding of how the system works and providing assertive outreach on behalf of others.
* Able to identify safeguarding concerns and prioritise effectively based on risk, acting in a way that protects the interests of vulnerable individuals.
* Knowledge and understanding of the needs of women experiencing multiple disadvantages and exploitation.
