Applicant Support Assistant
Applicant Support Assistants are responsible for delivering excellent customer service to prospective students at each stage of their journey from enquiry to applicant to offer holder. They respond to queries from future students and a range of influencers: parents, carers, guardians. This is an important and highly valued role as the way in which enquiries are managed has a direct impact on the university’s ability to successfully recruit undergraduate and postgraduate students.
We currently have 2 part-time roles (0.4 FTE) 1 ongoing and 1 fixed term until 31 December 2025 - Please let us know your preference
As an Applicant Support Assistant, you can expect to:
* Support the processes related to admissions to ensure a fully functional service is offered to applicants throughout the recruitment cycle, which adheres to the University’s agreed Admissions policies and procedures.
* Develop a wide knowledge of all parts of the university to efficiently answer enquiries or direct as appropriate.
* Build relationships with others across the directorate and wider university to ensure enquiries are responded to in an accurate and timely manner.
* Support the annual Confirmation and Clearing activity, including the training and supervision of application hotline operators.
What you will bring to the role:
* Educated to A level or equivalent
* Good interpersonal skills including excellent communication both verbal and written
* Ability to work in a pressurised environment
* Experience of relationship building and sharing knowledge
