We are looking for an experienced Senior Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to lead our inpatient therapy team at Alton Community Hospital. You will provide clinical and professional therapy leadership to the Therapy Inpatient Rehab Team and support the Ward Managers in ensuring that the inpatient therapy teams contribute to the implementation of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWH) governance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake advanced specialist therapeutic assessments (appropriate to clinical qualification and profession) of patients with diverse and complex conditions, providing a clinical diagnosis (where appropriate), development, and delivery of individualised treatment programmes.
2. Support the case management process by providing expert clinical advice and therapy to patients with a variety of complex conditions within our inpatient rehabilitation units who are at risk of deteriorating health that may result in declining quality of life or avoidable acute hospital admission or an unnecessary longer length of stay.
3. Lead your team, ensuring effective operational performance within the appropriate budgetary constraints.
4. Take responsibility for the operational management of your team including recruitment and selection, appraisal, CPD, and disciplinary procedures.
5. Provide strong clinical leadership and presence, inspiring, motivating, and empowering the team while promoting a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
The post holder will have experience in rehab, people management, and leadership, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes. You will need to work flexibly between hands-on clinical care, supervision, and management.
