Building Quality Surveyor
37 hours per week
Permanent
£35,000 – 40,000 per annum
Arkwood Developments is a new home developer for market sales and rent. We are local and proud to build homes valued by the communities we are part of. Our core values extend beyond our corporate responsibilities; we aim to benefit our customers and help build communities they are proud to live in.
We build new homes that have a purpose beyond profit and we’re now looking for a Building Quality Surveyor to drive the quality of workmanship on site and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, supporting the Company to reach its aim to deliver new homes over the next 5 years totalling at least 500 new units.
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will take principal responsibility for ensuring that construction activities on site conform with approved designs; this will incorporate building regulations, planning approval, CDM 2016 and Building Safety Act. At the same time ensuring that the works on site adhere to the necessary British / European standards, to the approved warranty providers and Arkwood Developments quality standards of finish.
This is a key role within the business, working alongside other specialist colleagues in delivering new build housing developments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to input into the design and specification of the units, using their expertise to influence the quality of the finished product, working on schemes ranging in scale from 20 units to upwards of 200 units, delivered over several phases.
The role will be hands on with an expectation to attend sites weekly (or more frequently as required) preparing a detailed report on safety, progress, quality, labour and other site conditions as appropriate. The successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, particularly colleagues, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
You will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a construction or property related discipline and will have substantial, demonstrable experience in inspection and quality management in new build developments. Applicants must also have full-time access to a vehicle to enable travel around sites and some flexibility may be required to attend evening and weekend meetings.
