Job Summary
The Area Sales Engineer will serve as the first point of contact for new and existing customers across the North of England and play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the company. This position involves understanding customer needs, the market landscape, and addressing challenges with tailored solutions. The successful candidate will build long-term relationships with clients and represent the company at events and exhibitions, showcasing its innovative capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparing and delivering high-quality presentations to promote products and services to prospective clients.
2. Collaborating with existing clients to anticipate their needs and provide tailored recommendations from the range of machinery.
3. Building and maintaining strong communication with customers through regular calls, meetings, and documented reports.
4. Representing the company responsibly and professionally at exhibitions and conferences.
5. Negotiating and closing orders to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
6. Managing technical and commercial customer inquiries while fostering strong client relationships.
7. Working closely with internal teams to achieve shared success.
8. Managing budgets through effective financial planning and record-keeping.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience selling high-value equipment in a high-pressure environment, ideally in the steel machining sector.
2. Confidence and competence in preparing technical documents, reports, and quotations.
3. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen and respond proactively.
5. Knowledge of capital equipment and its applications is highly desirable.
Benefits
Competitive base salary of £50,000 per annum.
