We are looking for a Lead Practitioner - Maths for April 2025 (or earlier) and warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers who are passionate about Maths and are dedicated to enabling students to make excellent progress. Our successful candidate will need to be dynamic, creative and forward-thinking.
As the Lead Practitioner for maths, you will work in a large team with a wide range of experience. The department continues to successfully train and develop ECTs as a means of investing in the future of the department. As the Lead Practitioner, you will lead the development of ECTs and the educational implementation (teaching and learning) standards across the department. With senior leaders also in the department, you will be able to rely on the expertise of established practitioners who will play a part in working with you to drive standards higher. This is a fantastic role where you will have a direct impact in developing the maths department to make it even better and grow our talented maths team to secure the very best outcomes for students at our academy.
A successful candidate will be joining a highly successful team, with recent positive outcomes through OFSTED ‘deep-dives’ and internal subject reviews. As the Lead Practitioner, you will support the Director of Learning to raise standards throughout the department in all areas to outstanding and help inspire excellence as part of a collaborative and dedicated team.
The department is well funded and supported with resources, with a successful candidate leading the homework strategy (Sparx Maths). In addition to the GCSE at KS4, the department teaches the IB's Middle Years Programme (MYP) at KS3 as well as IB Mathematics (Standard and Higher Level) and GCSE Further Maths. This allows for opportunities to work with a range of levels and abilities to improve the quality of education and outcomes in maths.
