Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional and organised person to join a proactive and progressive Town Council.
The successful candidate would ideally have an understanding of Local Government and will be responsible for dealing with routine enquiries from the public, maintaining organised records and providing administrative support for the day to day operations of the council office and its activities.
Duties
- Service Reception area and deal with routine enquiries from the public.
- Manage sports bookings
- Issue invoices
- Process invoices for goods and services and enter onto accounting system
- Administration of West Moors Cemetery
- Assist with preparation of agendas and attend Council and committee meetings in the absence of the Town Clerk
- Receive Planning applications from Dorset Council and draw up a schedule of applications for the Planning Consultative committee.
- Monitor and update media and communication platforms
- Assist with organising Council events
- Act as secretary to the Chairman of the Council for formal engagements
Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva
- Knowledge of Local Council administration would be advantageous
- Good understanding of Social Media and content management tools.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £33,024.00-£36,648.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 per week
