We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller who will be joining a Solihull based company that offers and installs a comprehensive outdoor surfacing solutions to a wide range of clients including local authorities, residential and commercial developers, nurseries and schools. On offer is a salary of up to £42,000. Working closely with the CEO and as part of the Senior Management Team you will have a varied role that will include: Controlling financial systems to ensure accurate recording of income and costs. As part of the senior management team working closely with the CEO and Directors assisting with the day-to-day management of the business helping to both develop and implement strategic plans. Supporting budget preparation including tracking monthly performance against budgets. Completing daily bank reconciliations. Processing weekly pay runs. Supporting system improvements across the business including purchasing controls. Completing quarterly VAT returns. Responding to both customer and supplier queries. Debt chasing. Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliation including prepayments, accruals and salary postings. Preparing management accounts. Collating and forwarding payroll information. Ensuring all sales invoices are processed and meet any customer cut off deadlines. Completing monthly CIS returns and CIS balance sheet account reconciliations. Credit card reconciliation. Managing international orders and payment of the import loans to ensure they are correct tracked and forecasted for cashflow. Being responsible for business insurance (renewals, claims and queries). Being the subject expert to support and reply to business and office queries. Maintaining an up-to-date cashflow forecast which matches current bank balances and forward forecasts of expected cash receipts and payments. Assisting in the procurement, establishment and setting up an ERP system. Requirements To be considered as the Financial Controller you will need: A minimum of 5 years finance experience with at least two years in a leadership of managerial role. To be a commercially focused Financial Controller or Finance Manager. Experience of driving process improvements within a finance function. CIMA / AAT or equivalent qualifications. Excellent attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills. Sound business knowledge. Experience of adapting to the challenges of a growing business and the processes required. Experience of QuickBooks would be useful.
