In our relatively short time in the UK we have enjoyed remarkable success and as we strengthen our service offering we have recently acquired a 2,000 sqm warehouse site at our Basildon branch. We are now looking for a multidisciplinary Warehouse Manager that ideally has experience in managing logistics clients and a history of supporting the development of a road distribution product both in the UK and internationally – an understanding of efulfillment would also be advantageous. This opportunity is most definitely a challenge and will best suit someone that leads by example with a history of evaluating processes and implementing process change. The Warehouse Manager will be focused on maintaining and enforcing high standards and procedures and will lead a team of 7 FTEs as they work closely with our Basildon Branch Manager who oversees the entire operation. Responsibilities: · Responsibility for the management of the warehouse, including people management responsibility for the warehouse employees · Structuring and organizing work flow efficiency and implementation of logistics processes · Communicating directly with the clients regarding their current business · Organizing inventory activities when required · Operating the Warehouse Management System (LogSpace), where applicable · Handling dangerous goods, if applicable (transport documents, proper storage of dangerous goods, records of dangerous goods) · Responsible for the warehouse equipment (forklifts, tools, etc.) checks functionality status, organizing maintenance/service if needed, evaluating if more or less equipment is needed · Investigating accidents and troubleshooting problems. · Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations · Ensuring that warehouse staff complete all necessary training and any subsequent retraining · Compliance of employees in the warehouse to standards and rules · Responsible for the on-boarding and training of new team members · Coaching, mentoring and developing own team members · Set and evaluate performance targets for each subordinate · Conducts appraisal interviews with subordinates What we are looking for: · An experienced multidisciplinary warehouse manager with experience managing logistics clients and a history of supporting the development of the road distribution product (domestically & internationally) · A leader who knows what best practice and good looks like · A motivational manager who likes to empower and encourage staff development · Someone who takes a pride in their work and is both quality and results focused · A manager who enjoys the challenge of improvement and is also commercially focused - familiar with customer engagement that assist with developing robust client partnerships and create potential selling opportunities
