The PCC is recruiting a Victim Services Officer to support the delivery of the Commissioning Strategy which is driven by the priorities in the PCC's Police and Crime Plan.
The post holder will be part of the Victim Services team that has responsibility for providing victim services across Sussex, including the allocation of funding to projects, and overseeing service delivery to ensure that victims of crime are receiving a quality service.
We have 80 commissioned services and a total of almost £6m in grant funding. In 2023/24 these services:
* Received nearly 60,000 referrals for support
* Supported 20,000 victims
* 90% of victims supported said that the support they received improved their ability to cope and gave them hope for the future
* 90% received a good service
The outcomes of our work have a significant positive impact on victims of crime and makes for a rewarding role.
You will be joining the team at an engaging and dynamic time. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, has excellent planning and organisation skills, and experience of working with a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the Victim Services Team in the management and monitoring of services.
* Supporting the team in the commissioning of new services.
* Lead on the Safe Space Sussex Scheme .
* Lead on the Safe Space Sussex Funding Network .
Demonstrate sound judgement, decision making, negotiating and influencing skills
* Experience of developing collaborative working relationships with partners
* Ability to work on own initiate, to prioritise and respond flexibly with changing demands
* Excellent oral and written communications
* Ability to prioritise tasks with conflicting demands/deadlines
* High level of attention to detail
* Excellent planning and task management skills
* Ability to deal with members of the public sensitively
* Experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Word
* Knowledge of commissioning public sector services, including monitoring and management of service delivery.
