This is a rare and exciting part time opportunity, working 2.5 to 3 days a week with flexible hours. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be joining a dedicated team to assist in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and students. Why this could be an excellent opportunity for you: With part-time working hours across 2.5 to 3 days, this role can offer you flexibility and a positive work-life balance This is an extremely varied working environment with a diverse risk profile, with students in a range of vocational subjects from welding to hairdressing You will be joining a growing team and be part of a business that focuses on and invests in Health and Safety Working in the Education sector, you will have a real sense of community, learning, and genuinely making a positive difference in the lives of both students and staff You will be joining an organisation with core values focused on respect, inclusion, and integrity The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for: Working alongside the Safety, Health and Environment Manager in the development and monitoring of safety, health and environment policies and procedures Engaging with management and Safety Representatives to identify safety, health and environmental requirements Provide assistance in the reporting and where required investigation of incidents and near misses Assisting management to making improvements following safety, health and environment audits Ensure routine safety, health and environment audits activities and checks are carried out To be considered for this role you should have: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification Experience in a Health and Safety role, or a position with relevant Health and Safety responsibilities The skills and ability to work as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £40,000 pro-rata based on 2.5 to 3 days a week, and an excellent benefits package.
