Working closely with the NE&Y HCC Network Lead Clinician, Deputy Lead Clinician, operational leads and multidisciplinary teams across the vast Network.
The post holder will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving the quality of services across the network, influencing patient outcomes and experience for patients with Sickle Cell.
Main duties of the job
This will primarily be a strategic leadership role, providing clinical expert guidance and support to network nursing staff and advise on relevant education activity.
The post holder will work within a team consisting of a HCC Clinical lead, HCC Deputy Clinical Lead, Network Manager (HCC Leadership Team) liaising with local consultant, nursing and operational leads across the region.
The post holder will work autonomously and exercise high level of clinical expertise in identifying and meeting the needs of Sickle Cell patients and their significant others.
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with network stakeholders to ensure the nationally agreed metrics and outcomes for the HCC network are maintained and develop strategic approaches for actual and potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation and escalate where necessary, through the set governance for HCC network being accountable to HCC MDTs, Business Meetings and National Haemoglobinopathy Panel (NHP).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* First Level nursing qualification and registration
* Evidence of relevant post registration academic achievement at degree level
* To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998
* Educated to Master's level or evidence of this level of working
* Specialist training in relevant SCD area
* Recognised management / leadership qualification
Experience
* Proven management and leadership at band 7
* Significant post registration experience in haemoglobinopathy care
* Experience of change management and service improvement
* Experience of collaborating with a multi-professional team
* Experience of reflective practice
* Experience of nursing team leadership
* Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation, and externally
* Proven change management skills
* Experience of developing standards, guidelines and policies
* Ability to negotiate and influence across all levels and disciplines
* Ability to develop and introduce new methods of working, including monitoring and evaluating systems and record of successful change management
* Evidence of understanding and participation in audit and research
* Clinical supervision/counselling skills and experience
* Experience of working in partnership to share and develop programmes of work impacting services.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and non-verbally) and sensitively with a wide range of people and to build credibility quickly

Salary: £53,755 to £60,504 a year pro rata for part-time staff.
