More detail about the role West of England Eye unit (WEEU) is looking for a passionate and skilled clinical Nurse Manager to lead our Ophthalmology Outpatients team. WEEU is a very busy department with a high volume of patients. Our Emergency eye service is also located within OPD department which is open 6 days a week at present. You will be used to working in fast pace environment with lots of walking. Candidates should be enthusiastic and be prepared to work in a busy environment with a flexible approach to working hours, as some evening and weekend working will be included. You may on occasion need to cover other ophthalmology sites within RDUH NHS trust We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who wishes to implement and grow their clinical and leadership skills within this speciality and have the opportunity to develop themselves in line with their personal development plan. It is envisaged that 60% of this role will be spent in the clinical area, as part of an agreed job plan and 40% in management administration. The post holder will have responsibility to monitor the coordination of all patient activities and flow. You must be able to manage a deteriorating patient and be proficiency in dispensing and administrating oral & IV medication. Job description may be updated once NMC new profiles are released in May.
