Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow (Core) in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Digital Health Technologies at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
This post is primarily clinically based and will allow the candidate to achieve proficiency in many core aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat surgery. Candidates should have >2 years' experience of practicing medicine. This post will enable the individual to build their portfolio towards a competitive advantage with Core Surgical, ST3 applications or alternative routes to progression to higher surgical training / experience. Substantial time is allocated for the development of clinical research in digital health technologies. This includes the application of technologies such as mixed reality, extended reality, Artificial Intelligence, etc in education, training and clinical care. The candidate will have a dedicated educational supervisor for the placement with specific goals and a career development plan. The research aspects of the job benefits from the support of the CUH digital health and simulation centre. Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.
This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an "F3" role.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
About us

Job description
Job responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to take part in a full-shift rolling rota that provides a balanced combination of consultant supervised, firm based teaching with clinical work covering the ward, referrals from A&E and ENT emergency clinics. The post holder will rotate through sub-specialty firms in Head and Neck, Rhinology, Paediatric ENT and Otology, Cochlear Implantation and Skull Base surgery. The individual will be expected to attend the departments medical audit, morbidity and mortality meetings and the in-house continuing medical education programme. The individual will be expected to complete a robust research project in digital health including publication in a peer review journal. This will be among other research goals. There will be opportunities to deliver teaching as part of a faculty on digital technology.
Substantial time is also allocated for the development of clinical research in digital health technologies.
