Randox Testing Services are specialists in the drug and alcohol testing industry. Working to strict procedures governed by our ISO17025 accreditation, the team at Randox Testing Services work closely with customers, health and safety and human resources departments to maintain the health and wellbeing of their employees and the wider public they work with. By preventing the misuse of controlled substances and alcohol, and by identifying those who require assistance with dependency issues, Randox Testing Service provide a critical service protecting all safety critical industries. The successful candidate will become part of an integrated team whose roles are crucial in the preparation of laboratory evidence which may be presented at occupation health hearings, industrial tribunals or Family Court. Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08.40 to 17.20. What does the Laboratory Analyst role involve? This role is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing services to safety critical business across the UK, Ireland, and overseas. This is an extremely varied role that will include the below duties: The performance of various analytical procedures, including manual screening and automated methods covering a wide variety of clinical diagnostic and drugs of abuse tests. The receipt and registration of biological samples into the laboratory The qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological specimens for drugs of abuse, using biochip array technology and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMS) techniques. The preparation and handling of samples and diagnostic reagents. The operating of various automated analytical systems. The interpretation of analytical data. The accurate maintenance of analytical records and quality documentation. Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process. The routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation. The preparation of test records. The transfer of biological specimens from RTS, ensuring continuity and stability is safeguarded during shipment. Strict adherence to the companys confidentiality policy within and outside the organisation. Who can apply? Essential criteria: Qualified to at least degree level in a life science, biochemistry or chemistry Enthusiasm to learn and follow instruction. Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve maximum efficiency without sacrifice of quality. Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Competency with Microsoft Office packages. An eye for detail with the ability to work well under pressure without sacrificing quality or accuracy. Desirable: Previous analytical experience in particular with immunoassay, HPLC or LCMS. Previous experience working within an ISO/IEC17025 regulated environment. Working knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety including CoSHH.
