The new role will include but not be limited to acting as an implant lead for MRI across all sites. The successful candidate will head a small team of staff who are responsible for investigating implants of all types in patients for MRI. Liaising with the wider MDT to ensure a timely pathway for the patients imaging. The new role will include talking and to and teaching clinicians and radiographic staff to inform them of specifics of the implant. The role will include manipulation of sequences to ensure the safest way of imaging the patient under the conditions specified by the company. The role will include the preparation of SOPs for all types of implants in conjunction with staff from medical physics and company representatives. The role will include being present at and assisting regional centres scan patients that are referred in to the OUH to allow the patient to take advantage of the home sweet home policy., Investigations of implants for safety Implementing an active database for patients requiring scanning with implants Liaising with wider MDT to ensure safe scanning Manipulation of sequences Scanning on all scanners within the Trust and regional centres Teaching and leading CPD sessions for all staff groups involved in the referral of a patient for MRI Working closely with medical physics working closely with company representatives Ensuring the highest level of scanning techniques and protocol manipulation Ensuring every detail is dealt with in a timely manner Dealing with acute patients with implants Teaching and leading CPD sessions for all staff groups involved in the referral of the patient for MRI Liaising with medical physics Liaison with company representatives Ensuring the highest level of scanning techniques and protocol manipulation, The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
