Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker\n\nLocation: Plumstead, South East London\n\nSalary: Scale 3 £24,862 / Scale 4 £25,581 per annum depending on experience\n\nJob Type: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week (39 weeks per year), Permanent \n\nClosing Date: Tuesday 22nd April 2025 at midday\n\nPlumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This creates the safe and happy environment which young people need to thrive and flourish.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nAs Behaviour Support Worker your role will be to contribute to the daily provision of high-quality pastoral care. This includes monitoring standards and patterns of behaviour and discipline, attendance, and punctuality.
You will need to have a good understanding of the school's behaviour policy and be able to support staff in implementing this.\n\nYou will:\n\nSupervise and monitor the movement of students around the site during lesson times returning students who are absent without permission to classrooms\nSupervise students across the site during lunch time\nSupport the operation and monitoring of the Internal Exclusion and Restorative rooms as appropriate\nSupport the effective operation of the on-call system to remove students from lessons as necessary\nUnder supervision provide mentoring and tailored literacy and numeracy catch-up interventions which are evidenced based and therapeutic to students on a 1:1 and small group basisAbout you:\n\nYou should have level 2 qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths\nYou'll need previous experience of working with children in a pastoral role\nYou should also have a commitment to the school's Equal Opportunities Policy\nThe ability to be able to lead 1:1 or group intervention sessions on behaviour would be an advantage\nBeing able to speak an additional language would be desirableAdditional Information:\n\nWe are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.\n\nReferences will automatically be requested for all shortlisted applicants prior to interview.
