Warehouse Manager
Midlands based - Travel to multiple sites required
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm (4:30pm finish on a Friday)
£32,000 - £35,000
We are seeking a dynamic Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our client's growing, fast-paced distribution centre. You’ll lead a small team, optimise workflows, ensure inventory accuracy, and uphold safety standards to continue delivering exceptional results.
Key Duties:
1. Establish and enforce warehouse processes and safety standards while overseeing daily operations, managing costs, and ensuring efficient inventory control.
2. Manage in and outbound shipments, provide supervision and guidance to warehouse staff, and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Oversee and maintain the warehouse KPI’s, including timely outbound shipments, product assembly, space utilisation monitoring, productivity statistics, and warehouse optimisation.
4. Work closely with the wider team including the Logistics/Purchasing Team to ensure that the agreed min/max stock levels are adhered to and adjusted accordingly based upon customer demand.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers, conducting regular performance reviews.
6. Ensure accuracy in warehouse data and inventory reconciliation on a daily basis.
7. Supervise inventory and stock audits and implement necessary adjustments.
8. Address routine and exceptional warehouse issues, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
9. Communicate effectively with staff, assign tasks appropriately, and provide clear guidance.
10. Track and report warehouse activities and employee performance metrics.
11. Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and deliver monthly operational updates to senior management.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Previous experience at managerial level within a warehouse environment.
2. Proficient in office software and warehouse management systems.
3. Strong understanding of business processes and logistics operations.
4. Strong communication and coaching skills.
5. Proficient in materials handling, including heavy lifting and reach/forklift experience is desirable.
6. Hold a recognised Health & Safety qualification/certification e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH – Desirable.
7. Experience implementing new processes and systems within a warehouse environment – Desirable.
