Main duties of the job
Are you ready to become a NICU nurse or take the next steps in your neonatal career? Would you like to be part of a neonatal team who works tirelessly to provide comprehensive, compassionate, individualised care and support to our babies and their families?
Portsmouth Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are excited to expand their nursing team and have vacancies for newly qualified and experienced nurses. We welcome applications from experienced Neonatal nurses, with a recognised qualification in specialty neonatal intensive care.

Job responsibilities
Working on a Level 3 Bliss accredited tertiary neonatal intensive care unit, you would experience caring for some of the most complex medical care. You will also have access to extended role development in retrieval and neonatal life support, alongside rotational opportunities in Neonatal Outreach, Family Integrated and developmental care, and Education and Research teams.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current RN registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications.
* BSc Degree in relevant field.
* Evidence of recent CPD.
* Post Reg. qualifications for specialty area (QIS).
Experience
* Managing resources and contributing to departmental budget.
* Evidence of contributing to the development of policy and guidelines.
* Experience in a critical/high care environment in an acute setting.
* Experience within specialty in level 3 NICU with evidence of professional development.
Skills and Knowledge
* Clinically competent at Band 5.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Teaching and mentoring skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload, instruct and direct others.
* Organisational skills and able to work as part of a team.
* Able to support development of others.
* Articulate and knowledgeable of current professional nursing issues.
* Health promotion.
* Ability to adapt to change within working situation.
* Intravenous Therapy Skills.
