Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in:
The Team is responsible for fulfilling the statutory duties of the Local Highway Authority in the planning process by providing responses to consultations from the Local Planning Authority (LPA) and Agents and Developers in respect of pre-application enquiries, and to the LPA in respect of planning applications, discharge of planning conditions, planning enforcement and appeals. The Team is also responsible for the section 38 and sc278 Agreements, including technical approval and inspections. In addition, the Team is responsible for Street and Property Naming and Numbering and Highway Searches.
Purpose of the role and your responsibilities:
The Post Holder will be responsible for responding to the Local Planning Authority and third parties in respect of consultations within the timeframes set out in the PFI Contract. They may also be required to assess technical submissions.
Formal qualifications required:
Degree in Planning or Engineering
Experience required:
Highways or Planning Development Control;
Highway Design;
Working in high pressure environment
Knowledge:
Highways Act 1980; Town and Country Planning Act 1990; highway design; Manual for Streets; Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
Personal qualities:
Able to work on own initiative and as part of a Team;
Enthusiastic;
Sense of humour;
