Job title – Content Developer.
Salary - £54,134, Band SMFO.
Location – TfL Office, 13 Allsop Place, London, NW1 5RS.
Contract Type – Fixed Term Contract x 12 Months, with a possibility of the role going permanent.
Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Overview of project/role
This role will develop, prepare and edit content for various course materials using different methods of communications appropriate to the learning solution. This will include front end web development activities including copy writing and formatting.
The role will develop training packages using a range of software, including MS Office and eLearning solutions. This includes creating content scripts and storyboards to produce digital graphic designs and creative solutions for the business.
Key Accountabilities
* Design and build engaging digital and non-digital products such as eLearning, blended, games, animated videos and resources.
* Pro-actively verify all necessary preconditions are in place for the development of content (training tools, access to applications - such as password creation, re-sets etc, suitable data etc.).
* Assure content of course material to ensure a smooth handover from design to delivery.
* Research new technologies and design approaches for courses and liaise with internal and external suppliers.
* Liaise with subject matter experts across all disciplines in order to ensure smooth transition from design to delivery.
* Ensure all course material produced is compliant with learning management systems.
* Align to internal/external project plans and ensure they are delivered on time.
* Coordinate with design manager to ensure that designed and developed learning interventions reflect identified business and learner need.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge
* Understanding of SCORM eLearning standard and the technical structure of digital learning courses.
* Good understanding of the instructional design principles used to develop online learning content.
* An understanding of the composition and functions of an organisation-wide Learning Management System.
* Knowledge of a variety of eLearning authoring tools and how they can be used in the development of eLearning content.
* Knowledge of Skills Development, delivery strategy and priorities.
* Thorough knowledge of the Design Assurance Process to ensure that learning events that are built reflect departmental design standards.
* Thorough knowledge of the cyclical stages of the learning cycle.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of all Adobe suite products, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Bridge.
* Intermediate knowledge of MAC OS.
* Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, including the use of ‘Developer’.
Skills
* The ability to learn new software quickly.
* Creating content using instructional design tools (Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate).
* Work consistently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in the formulation of subject matter for learning events.
* Understand client requirements in order to create and amend existing content.
* Test content to detect issues before quickly identifying how to fix them.
* Follow the latest technology and trends to enhance opportunities for learners and clients and use this knowledge to coach others.
* Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally and to influence.
Experience
* Using industry standard web development and editing software, eLearning authoring tools and content management systems (experience with Skillsoft systems would be beneficial).
* Working with subject matter experts to make sure learning content and design meets the business needs.
* Experience of MS Office applications (Word and PowerPoint).
* Experience of taking a concept and transforming it to a deliverable learning output.
* Substantial, proven experience of videography (filming) using a variety of media and equipment.
* Substantial, proven experience of photography and identifying visual material that is appropriate for incorporation into learning events.

Fixed Term Contract opportunity x 12 months
As a fixed term contractor we can offer you a choice of pension arrangements. If you choose not to take our final salary pension scheme you will be paid an allowance on top of your salary, subject to Tax and National Insurance. We will share all the details with you at offer stage and the choice will be yours based on your circumstances. Depending on what you choose you can add up to 14% to your salary.
