Job title: Quality Manager-Radiography Location: Barrow in Furness- On Site Salary: £56,000 Dependent of skills and experience What you’ll be doing: · Serve as the primary support to the Senior Quality Manager – Radiography (SQM), overseeing all radiography and supplementary NDT inspections across Barrow Shipyard, and act as the delegated authority when the SQM is off-site · Responsible for managing resources to meet build demand, including line management as required · Ensure that radiography operations on Naval Build Submarines are controlled and supervised by suitably qualified and experienced personnel, in full compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and BAE Systems’ local procedures · Act as the governance owner for Radiation Risk Assessments and associated procedures, ensuring proper distribution and compliance · Ensure that quality management systems are effectively implemented and maintained. · Oversee the management of records for conditions attached to the site license, including documents, records, authorities, and certificates, ensuring full compliance Your skills and experiences: Essential PCN Level 2 in RT or similar qualification with minimum RPS Qualification and industry proven experience In depth Knowledge and experience in production of Radiation Risk Assessments Thorough understanding of Ionising Radiation Regulations 2107 and The Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016 Previous experience in Managing Quality Management Systems within similar industry Desirable Recognised Risk Assessor Qualification Level 3 Radiography qualification Conversant with SAP systems Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Radiography team: The Radiography Department supports all aspects of Submarine Build across the Barrow site to ensure the highest quality product is produced for the Royal Navy. Our team consists of a diversely experienced and knowledgeable group, who work over various shift to support production activities. You will be working predominantly with 2 team leaders and 10 other inspectors in Days, including 3 apprentices. You will also cross over with 22 inspectors who cover all Open Shop Radiography on nights.
