Instrument Coordinator (Bank) Chelsfield Park Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £13.75 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) Chelsfield Park Hospital in Kent is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for an Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence across including weekends. Duties of this role include: Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required. Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules. Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies. Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking, supporting cost-effective resource utilisation and high theatre readiness. Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability. Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting. Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling, and decontamination processes. Good communication and teamworking skills with a professional and reliable approach. Previous experience in instrument or stock coordination, ideally in a theatre or sterile services department.
