Your Role as SEN HLTA: Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students. Lead small group interventions and 1:1 support sessions to enhance student progress. Assist in developing individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapting resources to meet diverse learning needs. Provide behavioural and emotional support, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support student development. Help with assessments and progress tracking, providing valuable insights to the teaching team. Support students with communication, sensory, and social needs, using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC where appropriate. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ HLTA qualification or significant experience working in an SEN setting. ✅ Strong understanding of SEND strategies, including working with students with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or complex needs. ✅ Experience leading small groups and delivering interventions. ✅ A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs. ✅ Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
