Milk Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, and skilled Behavioural Mentor to work in one of our schools in Leeds.
You will need to be flexible, energetic, and passionate about supporting children with complex needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other behavioural challenges. Behavioural Mentor responsibilities/duties:
Support the planning and implementation of behavioural strategies and interventions, ensuring a positive learning environment for the student.
Prepare and organise materials, resources, and activities to support the individual’s behavioural goals.
Work on a 1:1 basis with children to implement behavioural strategies, promoting positive behaviour and social skills.
Support children with self-regulation techniques and guide them in managing their emotions and behaviour.
Observe and monitor the progress of individual students, keeping records of their achievements and challenges.
Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their personal and academic growth.
Assist in developing social skills and encourage positive interaction with peers.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the successful implementation of behavioural interventions and support strategies.
Promote the student’s independence and self-confidence within the school environment.
Behavioural Mentor key accountabilities:
Work with individuals or small groups of children, as directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to support emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
Establish supportive, caring, and secure relationships with students, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive, inclusive ethos within the school.
Develop knowledge and understanding of specific behavioural and emotional needs and respond effectively to support students’ progress.
Assist teachers in creating and producing resources that support the behavioural and emotional development of students.
Help students with clarifying instructions, encouraging independence, and promoting positive behaviour.
Provide guidance and support in the development of social skills and emotional regulation.
