Job Title: Facilities Engineer (Contractor) Reports to: Engineering Manager Location: Greater Chester Area- Fully on Site Length: 6 months initially with the possibility of extension Company: A Global Biopharmaceutical Company Working Hours: 9:00 am – 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday. Job Summary The Facilities Engineer plays a vital role in the organization, focusing on assessing asset health and developing strategies to maintain or upgrade site facilities and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Utilizes a broad set of engineering skills to support and maintain equipment and processes effectively and can develop these skills in others through strong leadership. Pursues skill enhancement through training, assessment, and educational programs, while also fostering skill development in the team. Analyze technical issues to develop effective solutions. Demonstrates a proactive attitude toward challenges and a commitment to delivering results. Understands client and customer needs, aligning engineering support to meet these requirements. Applies principles of effective maintenance, ensuring systems are maintained for optimal performance. Assesses the complexity of tasks or projects and allocates resources appropriately to complete them. Implements continuous improvements to enhance business efficiency. Supports the integration of new machinery, technology, products, and materials within Technical Operations. Communicates effectively within operations using available tools and technologies. Promotes high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping for self and colleagues. Understands and operates a range of manufacturing equipment and processes. Integrates customer needs with business requirements to support operational objectives. Fosters collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional group. Education/Qualifications Craft engineering technician qualifications (e.g., C&G, ONC/HNC, BTEC national certification). Experience in maintenance and installation of diverse services and facilities within manufacturing or engineering. Adaptability to multi-skilled, flexible working with a range of skills across mechanical, electrical, and other areas. Experience supervising and managing external contractors and service providers, with knowledge of Permit to Work systems and related controls. Ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams. Proven skills in analyzing technical issues and implementing effective solutions. Experience developing new systems, practices, and procedures in a production or maintenance engineering environment. Competency in assessing task complexity and assigning resources to complete projects successfully. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ongoing commitment to skills and experience development. Demonstrated understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control functions, including basic building maintenance, with the ability to share this knowledge. Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Understanding of maintenance and technical support for various manufacturing processes and the standards required for effective integration. Familiarity with principles and systems to support effective maintenance of facilities and utilities. Knowledge and understanding of engineering within the Medical Device industry and associated regulations.
