Head of Information Services Derwentside College
Welcome to Derwentside College, a truly inspiring and vibrant general further education college on a mission to provide high-quality education and training that shapes the future and transforms lives.
* Location: Consett, County Durham
* Salary: Up to £56,500
About the role
Our new Head of Information Services will replace the current postholder, who is retiring at the end of this academic year after many years of dedicated service to our college. The appointed candidate will lead and manage the delivery of our management information and IT services across the college. This will include leading strategic planning in partnership with our Vice Principal for Finance & Resources, Tina Hannant, and ensuring the continuous improvement of our systems and related processes whilst effectively managing our related resources. In this regard, you will ensure compliance with funding methodologies and regulations, college financial regulations, and the accurate, timely submission of statutory returns as required.
You will lead several areas, including Registry, Web Development and IT. Alongside these leadership responsibilities, you will also work in close partnership with our curriculum team, offering your support and advice to ensure all funding considerations are made in support of their operational decision-making, timetabling and resourcing – and that new technologies are considered in relation to both curriculum planning and delivery.
Who we are looking for
This role will require a deep understanding and expertise in relation to the further education sector, the associated funding methodologies and mechanisms, reporting and auditing.
You will bring the required knowledge and a very high level of technical analysis skills. You will possess an acute ability to interpret data, using this to offer trusted support and advice to both strategic and operational decision-making processes across our college, ultimately leading to better achievement rates and improved outcomes for our learners.
You will bring an understanding of outstanding leadership and be able to empower your team to be innovative and creative in their approaches. You will be curious about potential new reporting methods and new technologies to improve the quality of our reporting and be ever-mindful of the need for us to be more efficient.
Peridot Partners and Derwentside College are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and our client expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references before any final offer can be made.
