The Role
As a Chief Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that engineering projects are executed effectively, safely, and meet the high standards that align with the company goals and client expectations.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead cross-functional teams and act as technical authority for the organisation.
* Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to engineering teams
* Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
* Approve engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation
* Establish and enforce quality control processes and standards
* Develop innovative solutions for improving performance and reliability
This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week and requires regular travel to a number of locations including Bristol, Walsall, and Plymouth.
Experience required of the Chief Engineer
* Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams
* Strong experience in relevant engineering field
* Strong understanding of design principles, processes, and techniques
* Working knowledge of project management tools
* Effective collaborator and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications for the Chief Engineer
* Degree qualified in relevant engineering subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Construction etc)
* Must be chartered or close to gaining chartership
* Advanced degree in engineering management preferred
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
