Accounts Manager

The position is a minimum of 3 days per week, hours as below. Some flexibility is required according to the needs of the job, i.e. extra hours/days will be required periodically to cover holidays, busy periods, month-end, etc.
We require an experienced accounts dept. manager totally conversant with computerized systems and a good knowledge of Excel. Ideally, the applicant will have analytical skills coupled with attention to detail. It is essential that they be able to perform the following routine duties:
1. Oversee Sales & Purchase ledgers
2. Manage the bank account daily (including the cash book analysis)
3. Prepare monthly management accounts (& compare with forecast)
4. Prepare annual budget/forecast
5. Ensure that the financial systems are accurate
6. Quarterly VAT returns
7. Arrange foreign payments and the treatment of import VAT
8. Cash flow forecasting
Additionally, they would be expected to carry out the following periodic or occasional tasks:
1. Production of reports for sales analysis, including “cost of sales” reports
2. Arranging company insurance - providing necessary data (stock, payroll, turnover & costs) for renewal quote
3. Keeping up to date with any financial legislation changes likely to affect the business
It is expected that the applicant will spend 2-3 weeks with the current incumbent for on-the-job training and familiarization with the position.
HOURS
9.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Wednesday
Lunchtime 12.30 pm to 1.15 pm
