Scope of Position The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, performing prompt repairs on facilities, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure smooth warehouse operations. Responsibilities Conduct preventive maintenance and make timely repairs on warehouse equipment, including conveyor systems, forklifts, HVAC systems, and other essential equipment. Supervise external contractors performing work on-site. Source and secure bids for equipment repairs or special projects. Specific Tasks Perform monthly maintenance tasks, such as oiling conveyors. Complete quarterly maintenance, including changing AC filters, servicing forklifts, removing covers, and greasing bearings. Repair and conduct preventive maintenance on various equipment. Test and maintain the sprinkler system. Oversee the work of external contractors. Repair plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems as needed. Maintain and test safety systems, including fire pumps, backflow valves, and alarms. Obtain and manage bids for contract work, materials, or equipment for special projects. Assist with additional tasks as needed across different departments. Keep shop and work areas clean and organized. Qualifications Trade certification is highly preferred. 5 years of relevant experience; warehouse experience is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Basic computer proficiency. Forklift certification is required. Ability to operate various machinery and equipment. Solid understanding of building systems and mechanical repairs. Familiarity with alarm, sprinkler, and conveyor systems. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. LI-DNI
