I am currently looking for a Locum Occupational Therapist to undertake a role working for a Council in Surrey. Working with adults, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions for adult patients with a range of physical, mental, and social challenges. The role involves working collaboratively with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving greater independence and improving their quality of life. Key Responsibilities include: - Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities, occupational needs, and environmental factors. - Develop and implement personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient-centred goals. - Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing patients' abilities in activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and other meaningful activities. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, and carers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care. - Provide education and training to patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home modifications to promote independence. - Monitor and document patients' progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. - Advise on and facilitate the provision of assistive devices and adaptive technology to support patient independence. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and care planning sessions. - Stay informed about current best practices in occupational therapy and integrate new techniques into patient care where appropriate.
