Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Water Consultant in our Basingstoke, Croydon or London offices - whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we're at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients.
Our current clients in the UK vary from local government, water companies and private developers. We also have large contracts for Middle Eastern clients where you could be working on some of the most ambitious projects in the world. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to support a talented, diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Produce high quality technical documents; such as flood risk assessments, water cycle studies, flood risk activity permits, drought permits, and water resource chapters of EIAs.
* Use GIS to collate, organise and analyse data for interpretation into the technical reports.
* Carry out water resource modelling using tools such as Aquator, PyWR, SIMCAT, RQP and rainfall runoff methods.
* Use numerical skills to analyse hydrological data and find solutions.
* Input into tenders for complex and / or high-profile projects like Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
* Keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services such as the Water Resource Planning Guidance.
* Mentor junior staff in their development through guiding them through the preparation of technical documents.
* Use AECOM's project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
* Working towards being a professional chartered member of CIWEM or ICE.
* Experience preparing technical documents relating to water resources; with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to flood risk and water resources.
* Programming skills in python or R packages would be fantastic, but not necessary.
