Job Title: PMLD Teacher (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities)

Salary: £120 – £180 per day

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced PMLD Teacher to join our dedicated team. You will be responsible for creating tailored learning experiences that meet the unique needs of our students, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess highly individualized lessons to meet the needs of students with PMLD, focusing on communication, sensory experiences, and life skills.
* Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education and care.
* Develop and implement appropriate learning activities that are engaging, creative, and sensory-rich.
* Use a range of alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, and assistive technology.
* Promote independence, self-esteem, and social interaction in a safe and supportive environment.
* Maintain up-to-date records of students' progress and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including EHCP reviews.
* Adapt teaching approaches to suit the unique and diverse needs of each learner.
* Encourage a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Proven experience in working with students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD).
* Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching approaches and alternative communication strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
* Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with complex needs.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* Training in Makaton, PECS, or similar communication methods.
* Experience working in a special school or SEN setting.
* Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and therapeutic interventions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
