BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three and four cylinder petrol engines, V8 and V12 engines, and precision machining key engine components, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production. Operating seven days a week, with more than one engine rolling off the line per minute, the plant plays a key role in BMW Group’s global production network, supplying engines for BMW and MINI, including some of the latest plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Role Overview
The principle role of our department is to support the engine production operations including: capacity planning, organisation management, disciplinary related matters, salary and grade changes. As part of a core team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of departmental activities and interface with management.
What will you be doing?
1. Complete and take responsibility for tasks to support the HRM team in delivery of targets and enabler projects.
2. Support the associates in the technologies with handling operational queries on a daily basis.
3. Provide administration support to HRM team such as absence reporting charts, letters for associates, preparing disciplinary/grievance packs, etc.
4. Report and analyse data to support HR processes such as absence and probation.
5. Support HRM team with general operational and coordination activities.
6. Assist the workforce with daily inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources or other relevant fields and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Resilient with highly developed interpersonal skills.
4. Able to integrate and thrive working within a small team.
5. Proficient in IT, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
6. Motivated, driven and eager to take on new challenges.
7. German language skills would be advantageous, but not essential.
