Department Disability Services is based within the new ‘Student Success’ team in Student and Academic Services which works to support the whole student journey, and is the first point of contact for prospective and current students who have a disability, long-term health condition, learning difficulty or mental health condition. The team is committed to providing the best possible support for all students at York, working collaboratively with colleagues across the University, to ensure that students develop strategies to overcome challenges and are enabled to succeed academically and in their wider lives. We understand that each person's disability or impairment can affect them in different ways and therefore the support offered is flexible and tailored. Role As the Administrator for Disability Services Team, you will manage queries from students sensitively, promptly, accurately and effectively, eliciting information and treating all queries confidentially and in accordance with University procedures. You will also undertake a variety of administrative and support processes, accurately maintaining all associated systems and records to facilitate the smooth running of the service. The post will report to the Disability Services Manager and will be a key member of the team, based at the Student Hub. The main duties and responsibilities of the job include: Acting as a point of contact and responding to enquiries from students about support requirements and the processes in place to access appropriate support for the individual’s need. Working with colleagues to maintain and proactively develop efficient administrative processes for the Disability Services Team, including the collection and organisation of feedback about the quality of service delivery.
