Parachute Packer
Our client is a global-leading ejection seat manufacturer, specializing in protecting the aircrew of state-of-the-art military aircraft.
They are currently looking for a Parachute Packer to join their team to assist with packing and repacking of both new and deployed parachutes/drogues to required specifications.
This role plays a critical part in the manufacturing process of the ejector seat, contributing to the safety of aircrew.
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am to 5pm Mon - Thurs & 8am to 12pm Friday
Salary: Up to £30k p/a
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pack parachutes and drogues in accordance with strict technical specifications.
2. Carry out thorough quality checks, checking for flaws and minor issues and reporting when required.
3. Prepare parachutes for loading into presses and utilize presses to ensure parachutes/drogues are compressed in accordance with drawings.
4. Record Batch numbers and complete history sheets.
5. Contribute to development programmes on both working methods and specifications of head boxes, parachutes, and drogues (including prototypes).
Required Skills and Traits:
1. Previous experience in packing parachutes, e.g., Armed Forces, Sky Diving.
2. Engineering background with experience of working from technical drawings and specifications.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Ability to work well as part of a team.
