We are seeking a qualified Secondary Teacher (7-12) to teach our Certificate III in Childhood Education and Care course, along with English and SOSE.
This position is full-time (term time) permanent commencing from Term 1, 2025.
Key responsibilities:
1. Collaboratively plan and deliver engaging lessons and assessment programs that maximise learning outcomes for students.
2. Work in synergy and coalition with colleagues in departmental/year level teaching teams to ensure quality of and provide accountability for these programs.
3. Implement programs with diligence, commitment and sensitivity to the individual needs of learners, differentiating learning experiences and assessment opportunities as appropriate.
4. Measure and monitor the progress of individuals and groups of children as learning programs proceed, instigating the involvement of internal and external diagnostic tools (NAPLAN) and the like to determine appropriate intervention.
5. Analyse and evaluate information from a range of diagnostic qualitative and quantitative sources to determine each individual’s learning progress and achievements.
6. Report learning progress, individual successes, areas of challenge and potential strategies for improvement to parents and carers within the framework provided meeting key timelines through efficient and effective self-management.
7. Support the development of each student’s personal, social and emotional domains through pastoral care policies and structures.
8. Ensure compliance with the roll marking policy and procedures.
9. Participate actively in ongoing professional learning opportunities that contribute to both the practitioner’s personal, professional capacity as well as to the College’s organisational capacity.
10. Contribute to the development of Literacy, Numeracy and Learning Technology in each student across all learning programs.
11. Attend committees/meetings as required to share ideas and contribute to the development of teaching excellence e.g., Curriculum Meetings, Departmental Meetings.
12. Actively contribute to the Outdoor Education Program through annual attendance at camps as advised.
The successful candidate will possess:
1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications
2. Queensland teacher registration
3. Experience teaching Cert 3 Early Education and Care, as well as English and SOSE
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
5. The capacity to integrate technology into effective classroom practice.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to work constructively with students, parents and teachers.
7. Solid commitment to and understanding of all student protection requirements.
8. Demonstrated ability to foster a psychologically safe and supportive learning environment in which students are encouraged and assisted to reach their full personal potential.
