Role Summary
As a Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing the plant and machinery essential to our waste management facility in the UK. Your role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our site, contributing to environmental sustainability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of plant machinery, including conveyor systems, shredders, excavators, and more.
* Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot machinery issues, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
* Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, including proper waste handling.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including logs of inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
* Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance staff and engineering teams to address complex issues and improve overall plant operations.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a waste management or industrial setting.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of heavy plant machinery and associated equipment.
* Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
