Salary Band: £45,880 p/a
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift. Rotational with 2 days 06:00 – 18:00, the next 2 days are 18:00 – 06:00

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
* Ensure all engineering activities are cost-effective and avoid repeat failures on equipment.
* Participate in improvement initiatives and support operational performance aligned with business objectives.
* Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify and eliminate inefficiencies and faults.
Asset Management
* Maintain and monitor assets using maintenance management systems to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance efficiently.
* Ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet internal and external customer needs.
Team Collaboration
* Work closely with team members and contractors to ensure smooth shift operations.
* Actively participate in meetings to report on performance and address root causes of issues.
* Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Compliance and Safety
* Adhere to health and safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on-site.
* Report accidents, near misses, and equipment faults promptly.
* Ensure protective equipment is used correctly and drive initiatives to improve safety performance.
Continuous Improvement
* Support the implementation of continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational excellence.
* Look for opportunities to reduce energy consumption and minimize the site’s environmental impact.
Food Safety and Quality
* Ensure GMP standards are met, maintaining food safety, legality, and product integrity.
* Support quality assurance processes and adhere to food hygiene regulations.
Other Duties
* Uphold animal welfare standards at all times.
* Perform other reasonable duties as required by the role.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* Strong fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
* Basic understanding of PLC I/O systems.
* Experience with drives, motors, transmissions, and closed-loop feedback systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Desirable
* Experience in the food industry, particularly in processing or manufacturing.
* Certification in health and safety practices.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems and programming VSDs.
* Fabrication skills and experience operating MEWPs.
