Space2 is an award winning charity, part of the fabric of its local community. For 20 years we have offered a variety of engagement and participatory activities for local people from community gardens to choirs to young people art projects, using community development principles in inner East Leeds. We run a range of groups that emphasise building social networks and social capital for attendees, as well as supporting health and wellbeing.
Our co-production approach is inherently about accessibility, supporting development of skills and capacity within a setting that values everyone and seeks parity of status throughout the creative process.
It is a fundamental aim of the company to continue to develop this approach and embed the ethos of co-production across the company, with local people increasingly influencing the Company’s direction and vision.
