About us What we achieve today in making Gloucestershire a place where children and young people can thrive, develop, and reach their potential will shape and influence our communities for generations to come, which is why we want to make Gloucestershire a great place for children to grow up and lead remarkable lives. It is vital that vulnerable children and young people achieve the best possible outcomes and that children who are in need or at risk get high quality support that makes a real and lasting difference in their lives. Children’s Services are an absolute priority for the council and there is political and corporate commitment behind our change programme, backed up by increased investment. Our most recent Ofsted inspection highlighted that significant improvement has taken place, but we need to maintain the momentum of change. Our commitment is to build on our strengths and ensure an unwavering focus on the areas where we still need to improve.
