Housing Officer Plymouth £32,242 - £33,939 per year 37.5 hours per week We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join our Housing Operations team in the South West. As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. Working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services, the local Housing team covers the areas of Devon and Cornwall, consisting of 8 Housing Officer patches managing an approximate total of 2,500 homes. The role of Housing Officer will include: Responsible for a patch consisting of general needs, homes for older people and affordable housing properties Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases and complaints about service delivery Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure effective allocation of void properties Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection) Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which include tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges and enforcement of tenancy breaches Skills and experiences: Previous experience working in the affordable housing sector, with an appropriate housing related qualification Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing is desirable Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions Excellent communication and customer care skills Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential Why work for us?
