Do you like helping bring people together? Do you have an interest you would love to share? Are you seeking work experience? If so, you might want to consider becoming a volunteer at The Shoebox. We have a number of community groups in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.
Current groups include:
1. Crafternoon at the Marina - each week members try out a different craft or creative activity
2. Stitching at Sundown - an early evening monthly group for those who love knitting, crocheting and other crafts
3. Traditional Board Games
4. Meet & Greet - an early evening monthly group for a cuppa and a chat
5. Knit, Stitch and Natter
What do Shoebox community volunteers do?
Volunteers are vital to the smooth running of our groups. The role includes:
1. Setting up the event/activity
2. Signing in group members
3. Showing members how to sign up to our free membership
4. Supporting one-off events
5. Illustrating how to do an activity at craft workshops or explaining a new board game
6. Talking with the group members
7. Making tea and coffee
8. Washing up and clearing up at the end of the group
