Role : Generator Systems Engineer Location : Field Based Salary : £29,000 to £37,000 plus overtime and a company vehicle Shenton Group is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Generator Systems Engineer to join our Projects team What’s the role? As a Generator Systems Engineer working within the Projects Team, you will be required to provide and deliver a consistently professional level of service and support to your colleagues, our clients and our subcontractors while acting as an ambassador of the Shenton Group brand. You will need a focus on quality with strong attention to detail to support the Projects team in the planning and execution of major power generation projects across the UK. You’ll travel around the UK in your company provided vehicle as part of the core project engineering team which may involve overnight stays, so a flexible approach to working patterns is required. You’ll be responsible for installation of mechanical and electrical systems and pre-commissioning activities for power generation system installations. This role is a fantastic balance of hands on working with a team of Project Engineers with the backup of a strong support team in the office to enable you to fulfil your role. What do you need? You should have at least 3 years experience in the industry, or a similar field, and have the electrical qualification BS7671 18 th Edition. A good technical knowledge of electrical and or mechanical systems is needed as is the ability to interpret and follow drawings and schedules. A full driving licence is also essential. You need to have a keen attitude and take a positive proactive approach to engaging with your role and your colleagues using your well-rounded communication skills. You need to be able to understand schedules, plan ahead and manage your time well. You will be working as part of an integrated H&S system meaning y ou need to able to understand and complete risk assessments and method statements. Your input if these systems require review or amendment will be valued. Experience of generator or pipework installation is desirable as is site supervision experience, though these are not essential as we can provide training.
