Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engagement Officer within the General Education department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based in the City Centre Campus.
Responsibilities Include
* Develop person centred intervention strategies to aid retention across their department/s and specific activities for those learners identified as at-risk.
* Support teaching and management teams by chasing poor attendance, which may include phone calls, online and face-to-face meetings, and where appropriate, home visits.
* Maintain and monitor a caseload of learners with poor levels of engagement and/or at risk of drop out, providing feedback and reports on progress as requested by departmental management team/s.
* Plan and facilitate activities designed to re-engage and motivate learners, addressing identified needs.
* Link with internal College support systems to ensure individuals have access to all available support.
* Collaborate with external support agencies where appropriate to provide a wraparound approach to support.
* Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
