Medical Oncologist: Urology and Colorectal Cancer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Medical Oncologist in urology and colorectal cancer to join our friendly, forward-looking team of oncologists at the James Cook Cancer Institute caring for patients in Teesside, North Yorkshire and County Durham.
Main duties of the job
This is a substantive medical oncology post for a 10 PA position. Candidates who do not wish to work full time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post.
About us
This is a replacement post for consultant retirement, so you will be joining existing, experienced teams. There may be some flexibility in the tumour sites we can offer.
Successful applicants will work alongside enthusiastic, dynamic, research-active teams who have a track record of innovation and technical developments.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Full GMC registration
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
* MRCP or equivalent General Medical qualification
* Relevant CCT or equivalent ('equivalence' must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
Clinical experience and effectiveness
* Evidence of clinical audit
* Site specialist training in urological and colorectal malignancies
* Evidence of research or innovative service developments
Management and administrative experience
* Management training
* Evidence of management and administration experience
* Success in obtaining funding for research
Teaching and training experiences
* Experience of supervising resident medical staff
* Other teaching skills/experience
